Emirates is taking delivery of a record five new widebody aircraft during December.

As the carrier continues to expand its global reach, Emirates is placing two A380s and three 777-300ERs in to service during the month.  The deliveries will bring to 30 the number of A380s in Emirates service.

The new aircraft will serve new routes to Lyon and Phuket as well as adding capacity to existing routes. Flights between Dubai, Warsaw and Algiers begin in the first quarter of 2013.

The airline now has 191 aircraft in operation, but has outstanding orders for another 209 aircraft.
