AgustaWestland chiefs arrested over alleged bribery

The current and fomer CEOs of AgustaWestland have been arrested over allegations of bribery.

It is claimed Finmeccanica chairman and former AgustaWestland CEO Giuseppe Orsi , and current AgustaWestland CEO Bruno Spagnolini were involved in bribery during the negotiation of sales to the Indian Air Force. The investigation involves the sale of 12 AW101 helicopters for VIP transportation.

Three of the 12 aircraft have so far been delivered, with the remainder expected to be delivered as planned by the end of the year.

Finmeccanica has replaced the chairman and CEO while the case continues.
