The organisers of the Avalon 2013 trade show, Aerospace Australia Limited, says it has “put unprecedented effort into ensuring the maximum business value for the exhibitors and trade visitors who will attend on the three and a half business days of the event.”

AAL says it is expecting 400 senior ADF officials and uniformed officers from the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) and Capability Development Group (CDG) to attend the trade show for the entire three days. Events planned for Avalon 2013 include a meeting of the DMO’s Aerospace Systems Division’s Senior Leadership Group (ASD SLG) with Industry representatives; a meeting of CDG’s Aerospace Environment Working Group; and industry briefings by the Tactical Fighter Systems Project Office (TFSPO) and the New Air Combat Capability (NACC) integrated project team.

AAL says it has also taken the opportunity to refurbish the corporate reception units and upgrade them to Exhibitor Business Units (EBU) to “provide a business environment suitable for meetings with defence and government officials with the full endorsement of the defence and DMO leadership.”

Avalon 2013 CEO Mr Ian Honnery said: “It’s all about engaging customers and partners. We’ve re-organised our flying display so that when people are attending seminars or briefings, or conducting meetings during the morning and afternoon they won’t be disrupted by aircraft noise.”
