Air New Zealand’s Airpoints frequent flyer program has signed up its 1.5 millionth member.

The airline says recent changes to the program, including the ability for members to earn ‘Airpoints Dollars’ on every normal fare and the introduction of new credit and debit card products have been well received, and that monthly signups have increased by 60 per cent.

“Airpoints is now the largest loyalty program in New Zealand by both value of points issued and the value of rewards redeemed by members each year,” airline General Manager Customer Value Hamish Rumbold said in a statement. “As we continue to grow, members can look forward to earning Airpoints Dollars at more retailers, businesses and on their everyday household bills during the year.”
