Australia’s Dieter Ebeling has won two medals at the FAI Intermediate World Aerobatic Championships.
Competing in an Extra 330LX aircraft, the Perth-based Ebeling won the gold medal for free program at the event held at Mossel Bay in South Africa.
And at the end of the competition, Ebeling was ranked second among the 30 pilots from 12 countries who competed, adding a silver medal to his haul from the championships.
In the overall results Ebeling finished on 3261.46 points, behind winner Michel Leusch from South Africa on 3,309.99 points. Neville Ferreira, also from South Africa, took bronze on 3,242.83 points.
Meanwhile New Zealand’s Todd Montgomerie (Slick 540 aircraft) finished 15th, while compatriots Steve Geard (Yak 55) and David Cranna (Zlin 50LS) ending the event in 16th and 28th place, respectively.
