The Recreational Flying Company has opened applications for its 2015 pilot scholarship.

Open to those aged between 15 and 25, the successful candidate will be offered a free training course comprising 20 hours flight training and 10 hours ground training towards a recreational pilot certificate valued at about $5,000.

The flying school, based in Gympie, Queensland, will also award two scholarships of five hours flight training worth $1,000.

While no previous experience was necessary, applicants had to be fluent in English and have a medical standard suitably for recreational flying.
