Caboolture Aero Club has played host to a gathering of about 40 De Havilland aircraft.
Aircraft began flying into Caboolture Airfield, located about 50km north of Brisbane’s international airport on Friday July 26 and continued to arrive on Saturday.
According to James Smith, the De Havilland variants on the ground at the event included a DH-85 Leopard Moth, DH-82 Tiger Moth, DH60M Moth, DHC-1 (mk10, 21 and 22) Chipmunk, DH-104 Dove (Ex-Royal Navy 781Sqn Sea Devon C.20 XJ324), DHA-3 Mk3 Drover VH-FDU (ex-Royal Flying Doctor Service) and DHC-4 Caribou (ex-Royal Australian Air Force 38Sqn, A4-228).
A number of aircraft also took part in a flying display that was enjoyed by owners, pilots and members of the Caboolture Aero Club.
