written by WOFA | August 18, 2019

We’re introducing a new digital aviation channel to bring you unique insights from around the world. We’re excited to launch the inaugural WOFA Podcast.

What’s WOFA? The World of Aviation!

In today’s podcast we’re chatting to Peter Weekes, call-sign “Weeksey”. Weekes is a former air traffic controller, fighter filot, fighter weapons instructor and is currently a First Officer with Tigerair Australia.

For those in Australia, Father’s Day is quickly approaching and to celebrate, we’re rolling out a series of podcasts to hear how some very special dads have influenced their sons and daughters in the aviation world!

We share Peter’s stories growing up with his father John Weekes, an airline pilot with a career spanning TAA, Asiana Airways, Lauda Air and Singapore Airlines, from F27’s to the Boeing 777.

Peter’s brother David Weekes is also a Boeing 737 Captain with Virgin Australia, which is a testament to aviation running deep in their veins.
