A RAAF C-17 Globemaster departed RAAF Amberley on August 13 with a load of humanitarian supplies to assist with flood relief operations in Pakistan.
The flight was originally due to depart Amberley on August 12 but was delayed due to a technical fault found while the supplies were being loaded. A second flight with relief supplies is expected to leave next week.
The ADF is airlifting $1 million worth of AusAID emergency relief stores including tents, tarpaulins and plastic sheeting, water purification equipment, generators, birthing kits and water containers.
