Rolls-Royce has received certification from EASA and Brazilian authorities for the AE3007A2 engine which powers the new Embraer Legacy 650 large business jet.

Compared with its predecessor, the AE 3007A2 provides 6-12 per cent higher takeoff and climb, thrust and reduced specific fuel consumption, providing a significant contribution towards the Legacy 650 extended range of 3900nm (7223km).  The combination of an advanced wide-chord fan and updated software optimises engine fuel consumption for long range cruise.

Embraer launched the Legacy 650, an improved Legacy 600 which in turn is based on the ERJ-135 regional jet, in October 2009, with first deliveries due later this year.
