Brisbane Airport has set a new record for passenger movements during July as domestic and international traffic increased substantially over the month.

For the month, 1.387 million domestic passengers passed through the airport, representing an increase of 6.9 per cent on last year, while international traffic increased by 9.4 per cent to 404,284. These record figures saw total growth of 7.5 per cent on July 2009.

“This time last year we were struggling through a major health crisis, in swine flu, which saw a large decrease in arriving passengers,” commented CEO Julieanne Alroe. “This month has shown significant recovery in arrivals, with visitors from Japan, Taiwan and China again eager to visit Brisbane and Queensland.”
