A second A330 has been inducted into the Qantas Defence Systems hangar at Brisbane Airport for conversion to the third KC-30 MRTT tanker for the RAAF following the completion and preparation for return to flight of the first aircraft to be converted at Brisbane.

With the first aircraft having been converted by Airbus Military in Spain, QDS has the contract to convert the remaining four aircraft at Brisbane. Following the return to flight of the second aircraft, which is expected on October 15, it will go to Spain to assist in the completion of the aircraft’s test program and certification trials, and will be the first tanker delivered to the RAAF in mid 2010.
