The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has notified Congress of a possible sale to Thailand of Mid-Life Upgrade (MLU) kits for that country’s fleet of 18 F-16A/B Block 15 fighters.

The package, estimated at US$700m (A$723m) would see the aircraft receive new AN/APG-68(V)9 radars, APX-113 Combined Interrogator Transponders (CIT), ALQ-213 EW systems and ALE-47 CMDS, and new modular mission computers.

The upgrade is roughly comparable to that performed on Dutch, Danish and Norwegian F-16s last decade.
