Three Sikorsky VVIP S-92 helicopters have been delivered to the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF), each equipped with the first LifePort medical systems ever fitted to the aircraft type.
Designated for special ‘Head of State’ missions, the RTAF took delivery of all three S-92s in April, and aircrews are in the process of undertaking an approximate six month training course at Lop Buri Air Base.
RTAF commander in chief, Air Chief Marshal Itthaporn Subhawong, praised Sikorsky for the “high quality workmanship and attention to detail” performed by the company in meeting the service’s requirements.
“They fulfilled every contractual obligation on time or ahead of schedule, ultimately ensuring a very satisfactory experience for us, and delivering the safest, most durable helicopters available to enhance our fleet,” ACM Subhawong said in a statement.
Aside from the recent delivery to the RTAF, Sikorsky claim that a total of 15 S-92 helicopters are serving in the Head of State mission with various countries around the world, including Turkmenistan, Turkey, Bahrain and Kuwait.
