Engine gearbox problems with the Airbus A400M have forced Airbus Military to cancel the airlifter’s participation in the flying display at this week’s Paris Airshow.

Minor issues with the airlifter’s Europrop International TP400-D6 gearbox have been blamed for the cancellation, Airbus Military CEO Domingo Urena confirmed at a media conference on Saturday.

Meanwhile, A380 demonstrator MSN 004, which was due to participate in the flying display at the airshow, will be kept ground bound after its wingtip reportedly “touched a structure” while being manoeuvred on the ground at Le Bourget on Sunday.
