New Air Pacific 737 to allow Sydney double dailies

written by WOFA | October 20, 2011
Air Pacific's new 737-800.

Air Pacific has taken delivery of a new Boeing 737-800, its first new aircraft delivery since 2003, which will allow the Fijian airline to operate a near double daily service between Nadi and Sydney.

The leased 737, DQ-FJM, has been christened Mamanuca Islands, in a ceremony at Nadi, and is configured to seat 162 in economy (‘Pacific Voyager’) and eight in business class (‘Tabua Class’). Its delivery will allow Air Pacific to retire its Boeing 767-300ER from next January, and redeploy 747-400 capacity onto the Nadi-Hong Kong route, with from January Air Pacific operating three 747-400 and 10 737-800 return services between Nadi and Sydney per week, up from the current daily 747 schedule.
