The Royal Australian Air Force has received the third of its five Airbus Military KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport aircraft on order .

The aircraft was the third of four converted from a commercial Airbus A330 airliner to the KC-30 tanker configuration by Qantas Defence Services at Brisbane Airport, and joins two others operated by 33SQN at RAAF Base Amberley.

The KC-30 is now undergoing an extensive operational test and evaluation program leading to IOC, which is scheduled for late 2012.

The fourth KC-30 to be delivered – which was the first aircraft to be converted, at Airbus Military’s Spainish facilities – will be handed over in December. The fifth, which is now undergoing its tanker conversion with Qantas, will be handed over next year.
