A simulator for the Hawker Beechcraft King Air 350i is scheduled to come on line in Melbourne next year.
The CAE 5000 series full flight simulator will provide pilot and maintenance technician training up to CASA Level D, the highest qualification for flight simulators. Training credits will also be available for operators of the King Air 200, CAE said, and the system is expected to be used to train military pilots as well.
The move continues CAE’s expansion in Australia. The company provides simulation equipment, maintenance and training to the ADF for platforms including the KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport, the C-130H/J transports and several helicopters. CAE also recently launched CAE Global Academy Perth, a joint pilot training venture with China Southern Airlines.
CAE said the King Air 350i simulator, which will incorporate the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 integrated avionics suite, will arrive in Melbourne during the first half of 2012 at a location yet to be determined.
