Ploynesian Blue has been formally relaunched as Virgin Samoa as the airline’s 737 touched down in Apia today featuring its new Virgin Australia-style livery and interior.
The airline’s 737-800, ZK-PBF Tapu’itea, flew into Samoa from Auckland today, after being repainted and having its interior upgraded by Air New Zealand.
“Today we take the national airline of Samoa into the future,” CEO of Virgin Samoa Mark Pitt said.
“The new livery will increase the airline’s visibility in the eyes of local Samoans and those living abroad as Samoa’s national flag carrier. Since announcing the new name in December last year, the response from the Samoan people has been overwhelmingly positive.”
Virgin Samoa is a joint venture between Virgin Australia and the Government of Samoa.
