Boeing has delivered the first of 148 F/A-18 Super Hornets and EA-18 Growlers to the US Navy under its Multi-Year Procurement (MYP) III contract.

Awarded in 2010, the contract was initially for the delivery of 66 F/A-18E/Fs and 58 EA-18Gs. The Navy later added 24 additional Super Hornets.

Boeing delivered 210 Super Hornet to the Navy between 2000 and 2004 under MYP I and 257 F/A-18E/Fs and EA-18Gs between 2005 and 2009 under MYP II. The latter included 24 F/A-18Fs acquired by the RAAF under a Foreign Military Sales agreement.

The first aircraft delivered under the latest contract, an EA-18G, arrived at its home base at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island on January 30.
