Regional Express (Rex) has announced a series of new services to Mildura and Broken Hill, including direct flights to Mildura from Adelaide and Sydney.

The new services, which will be introduced from July 9, include:

  • Six times weekly flights from Adelaide and Sydney to Mildura,
  • an increaase from two to three return flights each weekday from Sydney to Broken Hill,
  • and services from Melbourne to Broken Hill via Mildura.

Rex general manager of network strategy Warrick Lodge said the new services were made possible by strong partnerships between the airline, the Mildura and Broken Hill Councils, and the respective airports.

“In particular I would like to pay tribute to Mildura Airport for its bold vision and pro-active policies without which we would not have achieved such a good outcome,” Mr Lodge said. “I would also like to acknowledge the very long and historic ties we have with Broken Hill City Council which has given us the confidence to put forward this significant investment into the air services of this remote region.”
