China Airlines will launch four times weekly service from Auckland to Taipei via Sydney.

China Airlines has confirmed plans to launch four times weekly service from Auckland to Taipei via Sydney.

The service, due to begin on October 28, complements existing three times weekly flights from Auckland to Taipei via Brisbane, effectively giving Auckland a daily air link with Taiwan.

“This announcement marks a significant step towards stronger trade and tourism links between Taiwan and New Zealand and will deliver fantastic opportunities for growth from a number of markets this year,” Auckland Airport general manager Glenn Wedlock said.

The new Auckland-Sydney-Taipei service will be aboard an Airbus A330-300 in a two-class, 307-seat configuration.
