Jeff Boyd has been appointed chairman of the RAAA.

Regional aviation veteran Jeff Boyd has been appointed chairman of the Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA).

Boyd, who has been on the RAAA board for seven years, replaces Michael Bridge who resigned as chairman at the association’s annual general meeting in November 2012.

Together with his wife Lara Corry-Boyd, Jeff Boyd was the owner of Brindabella Airlines, which started with a single aircraft for charter operations and over 17 years grew to become a Qantas affiliated regional airline operating eight airline aircraft and almost seven thousand scheduled flights a year. The pair sold Brindabella Airlines in September 2012 to a group of British investors.

Boyd served for three years on the Reserve Bank Small Business Advisory Panel and has served on a number of industry advisory councils – advising to a past deputy prime minister and minister for transport, as well as to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.
