Dassault’s new Falcon 2000S and 2000XLS corporate jets have achieved certification by European authorities, with the US Federal Aviation Administration expected to follow soon.
The type certifications pave the way for the new large-cabin aircraft to be delivered from the second quarter this year.
Unveiled in May 2011, the 2000S becomes the entry-level jet in the Falcon corporate jet family. The aircraft has a range of 3,350nm at a cruise altitude of 45,000ft. Meanwhile, the 2000XLS, which was announced only in October 2012, offers an extended range of 4,000nm while retaining the short-field performance characteristics of the 2000s.
Certification of the aircraft culminates a two-year test program. Nearly 500 Falcon 2000s have been delivered since 1993.
