Newly-appointed Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss, who also has responsibility for aviation, will officially open the RAAA convention.

Being held at the Palmer Coolum Resort on the Sunshine Coast from October 9 to 11, Truss will formally open proceedings at 0830 on Thursday 10th.  It will be one of the first opportunities for the aviation industry to hear the new government’s policy overview and outline for the future development of the industry.

One of Australia’s premier aviation events, the RAAA Convention will discuss issues and topics important to aircraft operation and running regional aviation businesses, with presentations from key figures in the industry. An impressive line-up of guest speakers also features, including a business presentation from Ross Greenwood (Nine Network chief financial and business analyst) about the change in economic mood and outlook following the recent election and what this means for the aviation business landscape, as well as renowned speaker Peter FitzSimons (former Wallaby, media commentator, author of Charles Kingsford Smith and Those Magnificent Men).
