Franco-Italian regional aircraft manufacturer ATR has again set new delivery and order records in 2013.
The company delivered 74 new ATR 42 and ATR 72 turboprops in 2013, 10 more than its previous mark set in 2012, and took 89 firm order and 106 options for its aircraft, an increase of 20 percent over the previous year. The company’s backlog now stands at 221 firm orders with a book value of US$5.3 billion.
The ATR 72-600 continues to outsell the Bombardier Q400 in its category, with 79 firm orders compared to just 17 for its rival.
“Once again, this year we continued to expand our presence worldwide and consolidate the attractiveness of our products and our services to some 190 operating companies,” company CEO Filippo Bagnato said in a statement. ‘We are very proud to have the largest portfolio of operators out of all the manufacturers of regional aircraft.”
To December 31, ATR has taken 1328 order for its 42 and 72 product lines since 1981, and has delivered 1107 aircraft.
