Bombardier says it has been granted a flight test permit by the US FAA for its new Learjet 85 mid-size business jet, clearing the way for first flight to occur soon.

The first prototype, designated FTV1, has already completed APU starts, engine runs and low-speed taxi tests at the company’s Wichita, Kansas facility.
