Airbus revealed a demonstration cabin interior for its new A350 on its MSN002 prototype on the sidelines of the Aviation Interiors Expo in Hamburg on April 7.
The aircraft, which made its first flight in February is the first A350 to be fitted with a cabin interior. Airbus says the aircraft has been conducting “intensive cabin flight and ground tests” during a two-week period in Hamburg.
“Passenger comfort is an increasingly important differentiator for the airline industry, becoming a fundamental deciding factor driving passenger choice and business success,” Chris Emerson, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Airbus said in a statement. “The A350 XWB is the only aircraft in its sector to truly offer ‘comfort without compromise’, while providing airlines with unrivalled operating economics, flexibility and fuel efficiency.”
The aircraft will soon conduct a series of ‘early long flights’ with its cabin accommodating real passengers, while ‘hot and cold’ cabin trials will also be part of the test program. It will be joined soon by MSN005 which will conduct long-haul route-proving flights to major destinations planned by early customers.
