Nhill airport works completed

written by WOFA | May 22, 2014

Nhill has shown off its new runway after the completion of recent construction work.

The airport in Victoria’s north-west had its runway and taxiway resealed, as well as new line markings drawn, at a cost of about $160,000 which was funded by the state government.

Victorian minister for aviation Gordon Rich-Phillips said the upgrades improved facilities and enhanced operational capabilities at the airport.

“The Victorian Coalition Government is committed to improving our regional airports so that communities can continue to benefit from the important social contribution that airports make, in areas including tourism and air freight to essential emergency services,” Rich-Phillips said.

Local member Hugh Delahunty said the airport upgrades were much needed and would ensure Nhill operated a safe and reliable runway well into the future.
