Malaysia takes delivery of new Macchi trainers

written by WOFA | December 8, 2009

Malaysia has officially taken delivery of eight new MB-339CM advanced jet trainers at the Langkawi Airshow with the arrival of the final two aircraft in country.

The aircraft were ordered in 2006 and will replace older MB-339As which have been in service for nearly 20 years. The latest generation MB-339CD features an advanced digital avionics system with three MFDs in each cockpit, a digital moving map display and a HUD which better represent the modern systems used on Malaysia’s front line Su-30MKM and F/A-18D strike fighters.
