SilkAir is adding an extra weekly Darwin flight.

Singapore Airlines’s regional wing Silkair will add a sixth weekly flight to Darwin over the school holiday period.

Silkair’s extra flight will run on Thursdays from December 4 2014 to January 29 2015, according to the Airline Route website.

Flight MI801 will jet off from Singapore at 0855 for a 1500 arrival into Darwin, before departing the Northern Territory capital as MI802 at 1600 for a scheduled 1900 arrival into Singapore.

Silkair began flying to Darwin in March 2012 with four weekly services using Airbus A320 and A319 aircraft. The airline was in the process of transitioning to Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which will be used on three of Silkair’s six weekly services to Darwin.

Virgin Australia codeshares on Silkair’s Darwin flights.

Singapore-based low-cost carrier Jetstar Asia also flies between Singapore and Darwin.
