Nominations are open for the National Aerospace Industry Innovation Awards.
The awards, presented by national not-for-profit foundation Aerospace Australia Ltd, aim to recognise leaders in defence and commercial aerospace innovation and will be presented at the 2015 Avalon Airshow.
The winners in each of the six categories receive $10,000 and an invitation to present their ideas to the Australian International Aerospace Congress at Avalon.
Aerospace Australia chief executive Ian Honnery said the awards, which were first presented in 2013, hoped to reward the “highly innovative work which is being undertaken by Australian companies”.
“The awards enhance the foundation’s mission to promote the development of Australian aviation and aerospace industries,” Honnery said in statement.
“Building on the success of the 2013 Innovation Awards, we want to encourage entries that highlight the skills and expertise that exist within Australia.”
They are open to researchers and employees of Australian companies and research establishments, as well as Australian companies or local subsidiaries of overseas parent companies, with an innovative new product, service or approach to business.
Nominations close on December 11, with a shortlist announced on February 1.
