Qantas A380 to fly past over Sydney Harbour on Australia Day

written by WOFA | January 25, 2015
Qantas has been operating the trans-Pacific Southern Cross route since 1954.
Qantas will fly an A380 over Sydney Harbour on Australia Day.

Sydneysiders will get an close-up look at a Qantas Airbus A380 on Australia Day when the double-decker superjumbo performs a fly past at low altitude over the Harbour Bridge.

The fly past was due to take place between 1245 and 1300 local time on Monday, with the aircraft to enter the Sydney Harbour from North Head and descend to 1,500 feet before a series of turns over the Harbour Bridge, Qantas said in a statement on Friday.

The giant Airbus will then depart back through the Heads.

In March 2013, a Qantas and Emirates A380, VH-OQJ and A6-ADJ, respectively, flew side-by-side over Sydney to celebrate the start of the airlines’ alliance and the Flying Kangaroo’s first flights to London via Dubai.
