Ambulance Victoria takes delivery of its first AW139

written by WOFA | February 26, 2015

AW139 Victoria mid-resAgustaWestland and Australian Helicopters will announce the delivery of the first AW139 intermediate twin-engine helicopter in EMS configuration for Ambulance Victoria at Avalon today.

The fleet of six helicopters will replace the existing Ambulance Victoria helicopters, the  transition being completed in early 2016.

“The internal dimensions of the AW139 makes it the best choice for primary and secondary EMS applications. It’s faster, can travel longer distances without refuelling and utilises state-of-the-art avionics technology,” Australian Helicopters managing director John Boag said.

The six AW139s are being leased from leasing company LCI.
