Helicopter leasing, sales and support services company Eagle Copters Australasia has cut the ribbon on its new, enlarged maintenance and support facility at Coffs Harbour Airport.
The expanded site, which was opened on Friday and includes two new hangars in addition to the existing hangar, would enable the company to meet its lease fleet expansion plans and the ongoing maintenance work for existing customers, Eagle Copters said in a statement.
“It’s only been almost two years since we established Eagle Copters Australasia at Coffs Harbour and already the company has grown exponentially,” Eagle Copters Australasia managing director Grant Boyter said. “There is also room for further expansion in the future that would double our capacity.”
Eagle Copters Australia is a joint-venture between Canada’s Eagle Copters and locally-based Aero Assist. Boyter said the company has grown to 18 staff, from four when the joint-venture was established in 2013, and had medium and large helicopters under lease in Australia and Indonesia.
Boyter said the facility would be set up for conversions of the recently certified new Eagle 407HP aircraft once the company installed a specially designed structural fixture later in 2015.
