Australian travellers headed to Bali have been advised to check with their airline after an ash cloud from the Mount Raung volcano prompted Jetstar to cancel a number of services to the popular Indonesian tourist hotspot.

Jetstar said on Thursday night its flights to Denpasar from Cairns, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Darwin, as well as return services, had all been cancelled as the ash cloud from the volcano moved towards Ngurah Rai Airport.

“We regret the disruption this weather event has caused our passengers and thank them for their patience as we work to provide alternative options,” Jetstar said in a statement.

“We are closely monitoring the weather conditions and will provide further updates on the impact to flights.”

The airline has asked passengers booked to travel to Denpasar to monitor the latest flight information on the Jetstar.com website.
