Air India Express launches virtual interline platform with Scoot as first partner
Air India Express is the first Indian airline to launch a virtual interline platform, complementing the airline’s network of 380 daily flights from 32 domestic and 14 international destinations

Air India Express has become the first Indian airline to launch a Virtual Interline platform, expanding booking options for travelers. Key points include:

  1. The platform, named “AIX Connect”, allows users to book connecting flights where one leg is operated by Air India Express and the other by a partner airline.
  2. Singapore-based Scoot is the inaugural partner, enabling bookings to 60 destinations across Australia, Asia, and Southeast Asia.
  3. The partnership complements Air India Express’s network of 380 daily flights from 32 domestic and 14 international destinations.
  4. New route options include flights from Indian cities like Chennai, Tiruchirappalli, and Madurai to popular destinations such as Bali, Tokyo, Melbourne, and Seoul.
  5. The platform also enables bookings from Middle Eastern cities like Doha, Dubai, and Kuwait to Singapore via India.
  6. Developed with travel technology company Dohop, the platform allows self-connect itineraries and protects passengers from misconnections due to delays or cancellations.
  7. Air India Express plans to partner with more international airlines, especially in the Middle East, to further expand its network.

Ankur Garg, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India Express, stated this strategic move aims to unlock new destinations and cater to growing outbound travel demand from India while enhancing inbound tourism.

Calvin Chan, Chief Commercial Officer of Scoot, expressed honor in being the inaugural partner and commitment to providing comfortable and seamless travel journeys.

Bookings can be initiated on the Air India Express website, with self-check-in available at transit airports.
