American Airlines launches European-inspired inflight dining menus for summer routes

written by Newsdesk | June 11, 2025

American Airlines is bringing a taste of travellers’ favourite European cities to the skies with a revamped inflight dining menu beginning Wednesday, June 11.

The airline recently launched new summer routes to Venice, Italy; Naples, Italy; Edinburgh, Scotland and other European destinations.

The new European-inspired menus feature dishes designed to reflect the culture and cuisine of iconic regions across the continent.

From bold, vibrant seafood dishes to timeless comfort food classics, every plate is designed to reflect the culture and cuisine of these iconic regions.

Customers flying in Flagship Business, a Flagship Suite Preferred seat or Flagship Suite seats on routes to Paris; Nice, France; Rome; Milan; Venice; Naples; Barcelona, Spain; Madrid; Frankfurt, Germany; Munich; London; Edinburgh and Dublin will be able to experience these curated menus.

The menu features French-inspired dishes including ratatouille and porcini short rib, Spanish-inspired dishes such as Mar y Mar paella and seared sea bass, and UK and Irish-inspired dishes including mustard-crumb lamb and peppercorn short rib.

Italian-inspired options include pan seared halibut and herbed short rib, while German-inspired dishes feature schnitzel and spaetzle.

American Airlines is also giving customers more time to make their preorder selections by adjusting the preorder meal window to 20 hours before departure starting in June, four more hours than previously available.

This change will provide greater flexibility for customers who receive upgrades closer to their departure time, ensuring they have enough time to select their inflight meal.

The airline continues to test an afternoon tea service this summer across all cabins on flights departing from London and Paris.

The enhanced dining experience is part of American’s broader focus on improving customer service through its Customer Experience organisation, launched earlier this year under Chief Customer Officer Heather Garboden.
