Raytheon has received a contract from Boeing to develop an international version of its APY-10 radar for India’s Boeing P-8I maritime surveillance aircraft it has on order.
Just where the ‘international version’ of the radar differs to the US Navy’s APY-10 is unclear, but Raytheon claims it will deliver “accurate and actionable information in all weather, day and night, for anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare and for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission support.”
The P-8I will feature several Indian specific sensors and communications systems, and is due to enter service from 2014.
