Boeing has walked away from a $4.2 billion deal planned with Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer.

Embraer says it will be at least March 2020 before the proposed Boeing deal is concluded.

Embraer says it delivered 17 commercial aircraft in the third quarter of calendar 2019, a slight increase from 15 aircraft a year ago.

Boeing and Embraer say they now expect their proposed joint-venture to be finalised in early 2020, rather than the previous target of the end of 2019.

Embraer's Praetor 500 business jet has been certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency and the United States Federal Aviation Administration.

Brazil's Azul Airlines officially received the first Embraer E195-E2 regional jet at the manufacturer's São José dos Campos facility on September 12.
