AirAsia has resumed flights to Darwin, offering a four-weekly A320 schedule to Bali.
Flights depart from Darwin to Bali on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 1930 arriving at 2040 with a flight time of two hours and 35 minutes.
AirAsia said it has received strong bookings for the service since releasing sales in April. AirAsia Indonesia’s CEO said leisure and the fly-in/fly-out industry are its primary markets, while the airline’s convenient ‘Fly-thru’ connection service at Kuala Lumpur’s Low Cost Carrier Terminal allows passengers to travel onwards to more than 80 destinations in 23 countries without having to worry about checking in twice.
Northern Territory Airports director Jim Parashos said the restored service also opens up travel for the Northern Australian community who can connect through Darwin from Karratha, Port Hedland, Broome, Kununurra, Mount Isa and Townsville.
AirAsia Indonesia has also added additional frequency to its successful Perth-Bali services from triple-daily to four times daily.
